Cool? Thursday and Fun Friday!

Fun Friday!
Today, we went to the DMA for fun and a very cultural friday. We met our friend Brandi (BeBe) and her baby Zack there for lunch and some exploring. The children's area is bein re-done and their temporary set up is geared more for the well behaved 7 year old girl. Or maybe just girls in general would probably do fine. Reece stood on a chair and jumped down, ran around pretending to be a butterfly on the large open carpet --just like an open field (naturally), put the little doll house dolls in time out for hititng and not being nice (experienced in this area), and rolled himself up in the curtain. I didn't force him to stop playing since it was the "kid area" but the security lady told me to keep an eye on my child. I guess it was more of a creative retreat for ladies than the chick fil-a play area he was hoping for. Lucky for us, Reece wanted to see the pictures on the walls very badly. But after learning that he had to walk holding my hand or "driving in his stroller", our time inside became limited. I personally enjoyed walking around in the refreshingly chilly museum looking at the contemporary art. I usually go as a chaperone on field trips and feel like I am herding cats rather than taking it all in. They have a Land Meets the Sea exhibit that I would love to go back and look at sans child. The scultpture garden was our best attempt at a play area and he loved running and climbing -- surprise surprise.

Cool Thursdays
at the Arboretum

Family adventure night to the Arboretum I cooked some chicken, grabbed some pre done veggies at CM, packed some fruit, pretzels and hummus and chilled a bottle of wine and we headed down to the Arboretum. We love being members and getting little perks like discounted tickets to special events and free parking!! After relocating once to a more 2.5 year old friendly place, we relaxed and had a great picnic listening to the tunes of an Eagles cover band. It was the last concert of the summer and our first, but we can't wait until they start up again in September!!!
R-man playing and running around with the big kids.

our best attempt tonight.
