Trader Vic's and Rehearsal Dinner

As many of you know, we were at my cousin, Phil's, wedding over the weekend. It was a great party and fun little vaca for all of us. It was in Berkeley, CA- which is about 6 hours north of where I grew up. Phil and his wife, Jules (Julianne) have been dating for about 3-4 years. They met when she was a freshman at Regis University in Denver. Phil is my brother's best friend. The Rehearsal dinner was at Trader Vic's - known for their Polynesian theme and of course Mai Tai's. Those things were so strong that only the brave could partake... my brother and his friends. Anyways.... here are some pictures....

hmm... is that is son?!?

All dressed up~

Finally... the bride and groom!

Got to go to Wo-ork.. and I said No, No,No

Sung in a very Amy Winehouse way... that's how I am feeling. Monday I am heading back to a job that I once loved and am now beginning not to love. Teaching is such a great profession - just not in the last 2 weeks of May. The students are ready for summer and in their mind "done", and you as a teacher are SOO over it all.. but there is the fun (wink wink) end of the year tests and teaching that must go on. And this year... it's until June 4th! I am gearing up and getting prepared to go back to a grade who has literally lost their minds. Don't worry though Mrs. Kennedy is back. It's funny how badily they have missed me and yet when I was there I was the "mean"one. "Mean" to 4th graders = rules, discipline, and guidelines. The structure they need so badly has been missing for 12 weeks - coincidently I have been on maternity leave for 12 weeks. Monday morning will be a strange awakening to those who thought we would play and have fun the rest of the year! :)

I am coping with the fact that my days will be spent with 50 10-year olds instead of my darling son. The peace I have comes from knowing that his Granny Jayne is coming on Sunday to help for a few days. Then his Mia will watch him for 2 days. And Monty will be working from home the following week. And then.... SUMMER!!!!

Cali pics to come soon!!

say cheese!

It has been so impossible for me to catch Reece's smile on camera because he immediately switches to his "old man serious" face. But today, I captured some great shots that I wanted to share with y'all. :) He turned 10 weeks old yesterday - can you believe how time flies???

busy busy

The past two weekends have been busy ones here at the Kennedy house.
We have had my friends from high school and their hubbies come and visit: Kristin and Chris and Cheryl and John. We had a great time hanging out - playing Guitar Hero (Kristin now works for them as a brand manager!!) and Rockband, shopping and dining out - the 2 most popular things to do when in Big D.
This past weekend my father in lawand brother in laws came to visit. Jerry, Matt - from Vegas and Jeremy from Arkansas. They had great male bonding time and I went shopping and had mani/pedi's with the girls. I am waiting on pictures from Matt as my camera battery was dead and the charger was in the mail somewhere between LA and here.
Here are some of the events from the SM girls trip..

Kristin meeting Reece for the first time!

Chris is getting used to babies - he is an uncle now too~

She is SOOO ready for one of her own~ I told her what my mom's cleaning lady told me... "Cheryl they are easy to make but hard to raise!" :)

Amanda and Reece - she went to school with Kristin but grew up with one of my college friends, Nichole.

KJeff (Kristen Jefferson) {Kristin's college roomie and fellow Dallasite}and Reece - a natural don't ya think!

Reece's new fave (actually the best invention for mom's)-- the sling

The Rockband singers!

The band

Dad and son~it was the weekend so Monty is on duty! He watched us Rock out.
